Teens & Young Adults
Who is Julie?
I am a volleyball coach with over 12 years of experience working with athletes in various clubs and high schools, specializing in teens and young adults. I combine my technical coaching expertise with mindset and transformation coaching to help young athletes develop their skills, confidence, and mental resilience. My approach fosters personal growth and a positive mindset, empowering youth athletes to excel both on and off the court. My mission is to help teens and young adults overcome challenges, reach their full potential, and thrive in both sports and life.

Coaching Background
I played volleyball throughout high school for Mountain View High School in a very competitive league and for City Beach Volleyball Club in Santa Clara, starting as a setter in JV, right side in Varsity, and outside in Club. When I got to college, I played Libero, which helped me develop a diverse skill set. I've coached for many high school and club teams around the Bay Area.

As an adult, I continue to play and improve my volleyball skills, which leveled up even more when I started my life coaching journey. It's incredible how powerful showing up confidently can be. One of my biggest improvements has been becoming a much stronger passer, and I credit a large part of that progress to the mindset work and building my self-worth.

I've always loved the mindset piece of performance, especially under pressure. Being in sports has put me in countless situations where I’ve had the opportunity to learn and apply so much about the mind and how it impacts performance. It brings me so much joy and passion to share this with youth, and I can’t help but think how much it would have changed for me if I had these tools at their age.
What parents should know:
I am a very supportive coach, the right balance between support and challenge, I don’t sugarcoat things. I make observations that will change the game, and I’m not afraid to challenge players in ways that will help them grow. I get creative with teaching skills, tailoring my approach to fit each player’s unique learning style. I believe mindset work is just as important as technique, and I dedicate a lot of time to working on the foundations to set athletes up for long-term success. My goal is to help each athlete not just improve their skills, but also build the mental resilience needed to thrive both on and off the court.
I am happy to first chat with parents, youth, or both. Connect with me below to schedule a chat.
What does a typical session look like?
A typical training session starts with me asking the athlete what they’d like to focus on and what they want to walk away with. Either on or off the court, I believe setting an intention at the beginning is key. I offer both in-person training on the volleyball court and virtual sessions to work on mindset and confidence. Each session lasts an hour, with a balance of skill development and mental training to ensure the athlete is well-rounded in both aspects.

Amanda’s Testimonial
My name is Amanda, a high school student who has struggled in the past with building a healthy lifestyle and maintaining positive habits. Julie has been my volleyball coach for the past three years, and during that time, she has been a constant source of guidance and support. She carries herself as an approachable and encouraging mentor who genuinely wants to help others grow.

During my first year of club volleyball, I depended on Julie to answer my questions and provide feedback because she proved I could trust her words and that she would stick with me through my learning process. When she offered to coach me beyond volleyball, I curiously accepted—and now, I hardly recognize the person I was before working with her.

Julie creates a space where I can share openly and helps me think of solutions for challenges I have struggled with repeatedly. Before meeting with her, I had difficulty building consistent habits. Through our meaningful conversations, I realized I wasn’t setting aside time for myself. Now, I journal, draw, stretch, work out, thrift, and use alarms throughout my day to ensure I’m prioritizing myself. Julie has helped me find balance in my sports, academics, and personal life while feeling healthier and happier.

I have seen firsthand how her coaching has positively impacted my life, and she continues to be a role model and mentor I deeply respect.
Kiana's Testimonial
Since starting college, I’ve found more confidence in my new environment and have seen a marked improvement in my attitude toward my professors, grades, and overall peace of mind. Having the right tools has allowed me to navigate challenges as they arise with greater ease.
Not only have my life skills improved, but my overall quality of life has transformed. I feel more prepared to take on challenges, manage anxiety, and handle stress and emotions in a healthy way. Through Julie’s coaching, I’ve gained powerful NLP tools that have helped me manage test-taking anxiety, improve focus, and stay grounded under pressure. These strategies have made a huge difference in how I approach both academic and personal challenges.

Julie has been an incredible coach—supportive, understanding, and always pushing me to grow in ways I never thought possible. From being my volleyball coach to now my life coach, she has always been there for me. I trust her completely, knowing she truly cares about my success and well-being. She has helped me honor my personality, speak up for what matters to me, and step into my full potential with confidence.
